ARTAVI MED SPA - HOUSTON HEIGHTS

Biostimulator Sculptra

Sculptra is a type of filler that is a biostimulator so it is considered a very natural option to influence volume. The treatment works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen formation process to gradually thicken the skin and improve the skin’s quality and texture. Sculptra works to build the skin’s scaffolding and structural network to help improve wrinkles and deep contour deficiencies.

LONG-LASTING VOLUME AND COLLAGEN

Why Choose Sculptra?

As we age, we lose volume in many different layers including the outermost layer, our skin. When our skin thins due to loss of collagen, it creates visible wrinkles. Sculptra is FDA approved to replenish this loss of collagen to provide a more youthful and natural texture to the skin. Our physician in Houston, TX, Dr. Desai performs all of the Sculptra injections safely and carefully while minimizing any discomfort.

By age 45, the average person loses up to 25% of collagen so rebuilding this collagen is key! Artavi Med Spa is excited to offer this treatment to our patients both inside Houston, TX and to those who visit us from out of town.

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Biostimulator VS Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers, such as those made from hyaluronic acid, work by physically adding volume beneath the skin, providing immediate results that typically last from six months to a year. They are ideal for smoothing fine lines, enhancing lip volume, and contouring facial features.

On the other hand, biostimulators such as Sculptra operate differently. Instead of merely adding volume, they stimulate the body’s collagen production, leading to gradual improvements over time. This process results in long-lasting volume and a more natural restoration of facial structure, usually lasting up to two years or more with proper maintenance.

The choice between a dermal filler and a biostimulator depends on individual goals, desired longevity of results, and specific treatment areas. Consultation will help determine the most suitable option for achieving the desired aesthetic outcome.

SCULPTRA PROCEDURE

What to Expect

When you arrive for your Sculptra treatment, your provider will begin by assessing your facial structure and discussing your goals to customize the treatment plan. A numbing agent may be applied to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. Once the treatment areas are determined, Sculptra will be carefully injected into the skin using a fine needle. The actual injection process is typically quick, lasting about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas being addressed.

- Post-Treatment Care -

After your Sculptra session, it's common to experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness in the treated areas. These effects are usually mild and subside within a few days. To aid in recovery and optimize results, your provider will likely recommend massaging the treated areas gently for five minutes, five times a day, for five days following your treatment. Additionally, you should avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sun or heat exposure in after the procedure to reduce the risk of swelling or irritation. It's essential to follow any specific post-care instructions from your provider to ensure the best possible outcome. Results will gradually develop over several months as collagen production increases, leading to a fuller, more youthful appearance.
