Medical Microdermabrasion with Dermal Infusion MD or SilkPeel

This is our red carpet treatment recommended for those that want immediately glowing skin for a special event. Our med spa offers medical grade microdermabrasion with dermal infusion MD which is a unique treatment in that it exfoliates the skin, extracts blackheads, debris, and dirt and infuses different serums all at once with no down time. The result is a polished, fresh appearance with an immediate glow. We are currently the only spa that offers this treatment within the Heights area.

Medical microdermabrasion can be used to diminish the look of very fine lines and wrinkles and bring about a smoother skin appearance. It can also be used as adjunctive treatment to help treat melasma. The treatment is performed using a diamond tip wand to gently sand your skin and remove the thicker, uneven outer skin layer.

Medical microdermabrasion can also be combined with a chemical peel for deeper exfoliation. The treatment is best done as a series to obtain optimal results. These should be done two weeks apart for a series of 6 and then ideally every 4-6 weeks for maintenance.

+ How long does a microdermabrasion treatment take?

The total time usually takes about 30 minutes. If a facial or peel is combined, it can take about 60 minutes.

+ When will I see results?

Short term results can be seen immediately and continue over the next few days as the serums continue to work and the superficial skin rebuilds itself. For optimal long term results, a series of six treatments are recommended spaced two weeks apart.

+ How is the medical microdermabrasion procedure different from those done at a day spa or home systems?

The medical microdermabrasion machines used in a med spa have a more powerful motor with a stronger suction causing a deeper exfoliation and much improved extraction, ultimately resulting in greater skin improvement than those used at a day spa or home system. In order to achieve the same results as those done in a med spa, the treatment must be repeated every few days or weekly when using a home system.

In addition, the simultaneous dermal infusion MD allows the serums to penetrate much more deeply than facials or applying a serum on after a regular microdermabrasion treatment. The main reason for this is because the infusion is done simultaneously.
